Sharjah Announces Free Parking and Safety Measures for Eid Al Adha 2026

Thu, May 21, 2026(47d ago)UAE

The Sharjah City Municipality has announced that public parking across the emirate will be free of charge during the first three days of Eid Al Adha 2026. While residents can enjoy this holiday perk, officials noted that the exemption does not extend to parking zones that require fees seven days a week, identifiable by blue signage, or specific smart parking lots located in high-traffic tourist areas. To maintain order and ensure fair access, inspection teams will remain active throughout the holiday period to monitor for violations.

Beyond traffic management, the municipality has launched a comprehensive safety campaign to protect public health during the festivities. This initiative includes deploying 35 veterinary experts to inspect livestock and 61 inspectors to monitor food establishments like restaurants and bakeries. Additionally, the city is cracking down on illegal street butchers to prevent health risks, while 32 inspectors monitor beauty salons for compliance. To ensure a pleasant holiday, the municipality has also prepared all Eid prayer grounds and increased supervision at beaches and public parks, encouraging residents to report any issues by calling 993.
