Dubai’s RTA Offers Free Meals to Delivery Riders at Rest Hubs
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a thoughtful initiative to support the city's delivery riders by providing free daily meals at designated rest zones. In partnership with the UAE Food Bank and Deliveroo, the project recognizes the vital role these workers play in Dubai’s economy. By setting up these stations at 23 high-traffic bus and metro hubs—including locations like Al Satwa, BurJuman, and Al Qusais—the authorities are ensuring that riders have a comfortable place to recharge while on the job.
This effort aligns with the UAE’s annual Midday Break, which prohibits outdoor labor during the hottest hours of the afternoon throughout the summer. By offering these facilities, the RTA and its partners are not only prioritizing the health and safety of the workers but also promoting a culture of social responsibility. Leaders from both the RTA and the UAE Food Bank emphasized that this initiative reflects the nation’s commitment to humanitarian values and serves as a gesture of appreciation for the essential services delivery staff provide to the community every day.
