Sharjah Unveils AI-Driven Test Cars and Major Driving School Discounts

Fri, Aug 21, 2026(3h ago)UAE

Sharjah authorities are stepping into the future of road safety with the introduction of a new AI-powered smart vehicle for driving tests. Showcased during the ‘Darbak Sahl’ initiative at City Centre Al Zahia, this innovative car is equipped with eight cameras and sensors designed to monitor candidate performance in real-time and deliver objective, transparent test results. While the vehicle is currently on display, officials noted that it has already shown great promise in trial runs. Once final approvals are secured, the system will offer students a video breakdown of their test errors, ensuring a fairer and more consistent licensing process.

Beyond the technological upgrades, the 'Darbak Sahl' initiative—which runs until this Sunday—is offering significant perks to the public. The Sharjah Driving Institute is slashing light-vehicle training fees by 30%, and visitors can test their skills on a driving simulator that replicates everything from heavy fog to desert terrain. The event also hosts various partners offering practical deals, including 25% off remote vehicle inspections, 50% discounts on classic car club memberships, and 20% off vehicle number plates. It is a great opportunity for residents to handle their driving needs while gaining a glimpse into the high-tech future of UAE roads.
