Sharjah Police Gear Up for New Academic Year with Enhanced Safety Protocols

Sat, Aug 22, 2026(1h ago)UAE

As the 2026-2027 academic year approaches, Sharjah Police have launched a comprehensive safety initiative designed to streamline traffic and protect students across the emirate. By increasing the presence of patrols near school zones and junctions, authorities aim to reduce morning congestion and ensure a smooth commute for families and staff. A major component of this effort involves strict inspections of school buses, with dedicated teams verifying that all vehicles meet safety standards and that drivers are fully briefed on transport protocols.

Beyond infrastructure and traffic management, the force is emphasizing community engagement through its "Safety is Our First Lesson" digital campaign and direct outreach programs. In collaboration with the Sharjah Private Education Authority, they are also integrating the "Ma’man" emergency system, which allows bus supervisors to instantly alert the Operations Centre with real-time location tracking. Major General Ibrahim Musabbeh Al Ajel highlighted that this proactive, multi-agency approach is essential for a secure start to the term, urging parents and motorists to remain vigilant, follow traffic regulations, and prioritize student well-being during the busy school season.
