Sharjah Road Closures Announced for Infrastructure Upgrades

Sat, Aug 22, 2026(1h ago)UAE

Starting this Sunday, August 23, Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will implement a six-day partial road closure near the Al Hazanah area. The affected stretch runs along the dual carriageway from the Saeed bin Obaid Al Jarwan Roundabout to the Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan Bou Aliyan Roundabout. These maintenance works are scheduled to conclude on Friday, August 28, and are part of a broader effort to improve local infrastructure and optimize traffic efficiency across the city.

Authorities are encouraging motorists to plan their journeys in advance by utilizing suggested alternative routes to avoid potential congestion. Throughout the duration of the project, commuters should remain vigilant, follow all posted directional signage, and adhere to traffic safety protocols to ensure a smooth flow of vehicles. By following these diversions, drivers can assist the RTA in completing these necessary road enhancements safely and efficiently.
