Dubai International Airport Hosts Unique Mallathon to Boost Community Wellbeing
The Dubai International Airport (DXB) has successfully introduced a fresh approach to employee and partner engagement by hosting an exclusive "mallathon" series within its Terminal 3 facilities. This initiative, which marks the first time the popular city-wide exercise program has moved beyond traditional shopping malls, has seen an enthusiastic turnout of over 500 participants. Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports, noted that the event serves as a natural extension of the airportâs environment, emphasizing that since airports are hubs of constant movement, they provide a perfect setting for fostering physical activity and social interaction.
Beyond the physical benefits of walking, the program is designed to break down professional silos and encourage meaningful connections among the diverse "oneDXB" community. By allowing staff and partners to interact outside of their typical work routines, the airport is nurturing a more cohesive and supportive environment that aligns with Dubai's broader Quality of Life Strategy 2033. As the event concludes on August 28, the final session will feature a special tribute to Emirati Women's Day, celebrating the vital contributions of women across the aviation sector while reinforcing the airport's commitment to long-term health and community building.
