Sharjah Ruler Grants Over 4,400 Scholarships to Emirati Students
In a significant move to bolster higher education, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, has officially approved 4,434 scholarships for Emirati students, including the children of Emirati women residing in the emirate. This initiative is designed to provide robust financial support to scholars across various academic levels, ensuring that talented individuals have the resources necessary to pursue their bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees without financial barriers.
The breakdown of this scholarship package shows a clear emphasis on undergraduate education, with 3,463 spots reserved for bachelor’s students. Additionally, 722 scholarships have been set aside for master’s candidates, and 249 for those working toward their doctoral degrees. These funds will be applicable at eight prestigious local institutions, including the University of Sharjah, the American University of Sharjah, and the Sharjah Maritime Academy, among others. By covering a diverse range of disciplines, this program continues to solidify Sharjah’s commitment to academic excellence and long-term professional development for its citizens.
