A heartbreaking road accident in Umm Al Quwain has claimed the life of a 35-year-old Indian expatriate, leaving a young family devastated. Jason, a supervisor at an Ajman-based contracting firm who had been living in the UAE for over five years, was traveling to his worksite on August 17 when the company minibus he was riding in veered out of control. According to social worker Salim Noor, the driver reportedly suffered a sudden medical episode, causing the vehicle to strike a divider. Jason, who was seated in the front passenger seat, tragically lost his life, while four of his colleagues sustained injuries.

The loss is particularly painful as the victim and his wife, both from Kerala, were just beginning to see their hard work pay off. Having left their young children, aged three and six, with family in India, the couple had recently celebrated the wife securing a nursing position in Sharjah. Following the repatriation of Jason’s body to Thiruvananthapuram, his wife has also returned home to perform the final rites. This incident has reignited urgent conversations among safety experts regarding the high-risk nature of company-operated minibuses in the UAE, especially in light of a string of recent fatal road accidents involving similar vehicles.
