UAE weather: Scattered showers and dusty winds expected this Thursday
On Thursday, August 27, residents across the UAE can expect a mix of fair to partly cloudy skies, with the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasting a high probability of afternoon rain. These showers are likely to develop as convective clouds gather over the eastern and southern regions of the country. Influenced by a combination of a surface low-pressure system from the east and a weak upper-air disturbance, the region is seeing moisture drawn in from the Sea of Oman, which, when paired with intense heat and the local topography of the mountains, sets the stage for scattered rainfall.
In addition to the chance of rain, the weather will be characterized by moderate southeasterly to northwesterly winds. These gusts, which may reach speeds of up to 45 km/hr, are expected to stir up dust, potentially reducing visibility in some areas. Temperatures will remain quite high, peaking at 49ÂșC in certain interior locations, while major cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah will see highs ranging between 43ÂșC and 46ÂșC. Despite the heat, sea conditions are projected to remain relatively calm across both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
