Ras Al Khaimah Launches Fitness Challenge with Dh50,000 Grand Prize

Thu, Aug 27, 2026(2h ago)UAE

The third installment of the Ras Al Khaimah Fitness Challenge is set to launch this September, offering a life-changing opportunity for young Emiratis to prioritize their health while competing for a grand prize of Dh50,000. Initiated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, the Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, this community-driven event aims to promote active living and sustainable wellness habits among the youth. The competition is specifically designed for UAE citizens aged 13 to 30 who hold a Ras Al Khaimah passport, have a BMI of at least 40, and are currently registered at a local gym.

With a total of 20 cash prizes up for grabs, the competition rewards consistency and progress. The top finisher will walk away with Dh50,000, with prize amounts decreasing incrementally to Dh31,000 for the 20th-place winner. This year’s event follows a highly successful second edition, which saw participants lose a combined 724kg, including an impressive 19kg drop by the 2026 champion, Ahmed Mohammed Al Teneiji. As registration opens across gyms in Ras Al Khaimah next month, organizers are eager to see even more residents commit to long-term health improvements and contribute to a more active, vibrant community.
