UAE and Egypt Finalize $500 Million Five-Year Wheat Supply Deal

Thu, Aug 27, 2026(2h ago)UAE

The United Arab Emirates and Egypt have officially solidified a major agricultural partnership, signing a five-year agreement to supply wheat to the North African nation. This deal, valued at $500 million, formalizes a strategic framework established in 2023 between Al Dahra Agriculture Trading (ADAT) and Egypt’s General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC). The pact, which was signed in El Alamein, sets the operational groundwork for consistent wheat shipments supported by a specialized financing program from the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX).

This long-term arrangement highlights the deepening economic ties between the two countries, focusing on food security and sustainable trade. By utilizing ADEX’s innovative financing tools, the initiative ensures a reliable supply chain for Egypt while simultaneously bolstering the UAE's agricultural export footprint. With Al Dahra’s extensive operational experience and established farming presence in Egypt dating back to 2007, both nations view this collaboration as a model for how targeted economic support can effectively secure essential resources for communities in need.
