Dubai Police Gears Up for a Safe 2026-27 School Year

Thu, Aug 27, 2026(2h ago)UAE

As the 2026-27 academic year approaches, the Dubai Police has launched a comprehensive security and traffic management strategy to ensure a smooth return to the classroom. By coordinating with various strategic partners, the force is rolling out a robust plan that features the deployment of 253 patrol vehicles and 28 drones tasked with monitoring traffic flow near school zones. To boost their field presence, they will also utilize luxury vehicles, mounted units, and bicycle patrols, ensuring that security is visible and accessible throughout the city’s educational hubs.

Beyond physical security, the initiative places a heavy emphasis on community engagement and student awareness. Over 700 police personnel will be on the ground, supported by student “Safety Ambassadors,” to guide pupils and promote road safety. The program includes 30 distinct awareness campaigns designed to educate families and staff alike on pedestrian safety and school protocols. Captain Majid Al Kaabi noted that these efforts are about more than just traffic control; they are designed to foster a culture of discipline and positive growth, encouraging the entire community to work together in creating a secure, motivating environment for all students.
