Starlink Set to Transform Internet Access in the UAE

Sat, Aug 29, 2026(2h ago)UAE

Elon Musk’s Starlink is officially expanding its footprint in the UAE after receiving a 10-year General Satellite Services Licence from the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority. This milestone marks a significant upgrade for the nation’s digital landscape, complementing existing fiber-optic networks with satellite-based broadband for individuals, businesses, and the maritime and aviation sectors. While the company previously held a limited license for maritime services, this broader authorization paves the way for widespread residential and commercial connectivity.

Residents eager to secure the service can now place a pre-order through the official Starlink website. While the company has not yet confirmed an exact start date for full service, it is actively working to expand its constellation capacity. The standard residential plan is priced at Dh300 per month, which includes unlimited data and a 30-day trial period. Prospective users will need to purchase hardware, which starts at Dh1,465 and comes with a high-performance Wi-Fi 6 router. To begin the process, users simply need to visit the Starlink website, confirm their location, and complete the registration form with a refundable deposit to secure their spot.
