Enhancing School Zone Safety: Dubai Police Train Security Personnel
To bolster student safety and streamline traffic flow, Dubai Police recently conducted specialized training sessions for over 140 security guards spanning 35 schools across the city. Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, noted that these workshops are part of a broader effort to strengthen institutional partnerships and empower guards to manage daily challenges effectively. By focusing on traffic regulation during peak arrival and departure times, the initiative aims to create a safer environment for students while reducing congestion around school premises.
Beyond traffic management, the program provided guards with the practical expertise needed to navigate potential emergencies. Participants were trained on identifying various types of accidents and utilizing the "We Are All Police" smart app for reporting incidents. The curriculum also included hands-on simulations for managing minor collisions, safe student bus procedures, and initial emergency response protocols. By equipping staff with these professional skills, Dubai Police is ensuring that school security teams can act decisively and effectively until official responders arrive on the scene.
