Taco Bell Returns to UAE Market After Long Hiatus
Fourteen years after exiting the region, the iconic fast-food chain Taco Bell is set to make a major comeback in the United Arab Emirates. Americana Restaurants, the operator already responsible for the success of KFC and Pizza Hut across the GCC, has finalized a partnership with Taco Bell UK and Europe Ltd to reintroduce the brand to the Middle Eastern market. While specific dates and locations remain under wraps, officials have hinted that the rollout will begin in Dubai before scaling out to reach customers across the wider Gulf region.
This move marks a strategic effort to tap into a growing local appetite for Mexican-inspired cuisine, which has gained significant traction since Taco Bellâs original departure in 2012. Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Americana Restaurants, emphasized that the brandâs bold, value-driven identity aligns perfectly with the adventurous spirit of the regionâs youth. By combining the global appeal of Taco Bellâs unique menu with Americanaâs established operational expertise, the companies hope to deliver a fresh, high-energy experience that resonates with a new generation of food lovers.
