Dubai Salesman’s Ordinary Shopping Trip Leads to Life-Changing Apartment Win

Mon, Aug 31, 2026(2h ago)UAE

A local salesman in Dubai experienced a surreal turn of events when a routine shopping trip transformed into a life-altering victory. Mohammed Salman Masood, who works at a food supply store, was busy on the job this past Sunday when he received an unexpected call from radio personality Kris Fade. During a live broadcast at Dubai Festival City, he was informed that he had won a grand prize, though the news took a moment to truly sink in. His winning entry originated from a Dh964 receipt at a Union Cooperative supermarket back in May, proving that even a simple errand can hold significant rewards.

The prize was the ultimate highlight of the 'Win Your Home in Dubai' campaign, an initiative that awarded 12 properties—including 11 studios and one grand-prize two-bedroom apartment—to lucky shoppers. Participants were eligible for the draw by spending at least Dh500 at participating retailers. Masood’s purchase, made just days after the campaign launched in late May, ultimately secured him the beautiful two-bedroom apartment located in Al Jaddaf. It was a remarkable conclusion to a three-month-long promotion, turning an ordinary day at work into the moment he became a homeowner in the city.
