Dubai Police Crack Down on Reckless Stunt Driving in Residential Areas

Fri, May 22, 2026(45d ago)UAE

Dubai Police recently took decisive action by impounding a vehicle involved in dangerous stunts and excessive noise pollution in the Oud Al Muteena district. The driver was quickly identified and held accountable after engaging in reckless maneuvers that caused significant public disturbance. During questioning, the individual admitted to the behavior, leading authorities to initiate formal legal proceedings and seize the vehicle to ensure community safety.

Brigadier Essam Ibrahim Al Awar, Deputy Director of the General Department of Traffic, emphasized that such actions go far beyond simple traffic infractions; they represent a serious disregard for the peace of residential neighborhoods and the safety of fellow motorists. He noted that these stunts not only risk the life of the driver but also instill fear among families and damage public property. Consequently, Dubai Police remains committed to enforcing strict penalties, including the potential for hefty fines of up to Dh50,000 under local decrees, to deter anyone from turning public roads into private playgrounds.
