In response to rising regional instability linked to the ongoing conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran, authorities in Dubai have mandated that all houses of worship temporarily shift their services to online platforms. This directive, issued by the Community Development Authority, affects a wide range of institutions, including various churches, the Hindu Temple in Bur Dubai, and the Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar. While the closures coincide with Holy Week—a period of significant religious importance for Christians—leaders from the affected communities have urged parishioners to prioritize safety and participate in virtual services instead of gathering in person.

Despite these measures in Dubai, the situation remains different in other parts of the UAE. Places of worship in emirates such as Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Abu Dhabi have largely continued their scheduled in-person services, with no reported changes to their regular operations. While mosques across the country remain open, they have also adjusted by restricting prayer to indoor spaces and closing outdoor, open-air prayer sites. Religious leaders and congregants have largely expressed understanding, emphasizing their commitment to following official safety protocols while maintaining their spiritual practices during this challenging period.
