The Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, has stepped in to resolve a controversy surrounding the Sudan Private School after parents reported being charged unexpected tuition fees. Following a public complaint from a concerned parent who struggled to obtain their children's certificates due to outstanding payments, the Sharjah Ruler clarified that the school was established specifically to provide free education for the local Sudanese community. He expressed his disappointment that the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) had implemented "nominal" charges, noting that for families in need, any financial burden is significant.

Moving forward, Sheikh Dr Sultan has issued a firm directive to the SPEA to cease all fee collection immediately and refund any money already paid by families. During an appearance on the 'Direct Line' radio programme, he reiterated his personal commitment to overseeing the school's operations, emphasizing that his goal is to provide quality, cost-free education. He stressed that the school must remain entirely free of charge and reaffirmed his dedication to monitoring staff quality and student welfare, ensuring that the institution continues to serve the community exactly as he originally intended.
