Saeed Rashid Al Abdi Passes Away: Tributes Pour In for FNC Member
The UAE is mourning the loss of Saeed Rashid Abdullah Al Abdi Al Nuaimi, a dedicated Federal National Council (FNC) member who passed away suddenly on September 2, 2026, following a heart attack. A respected figure from Ras Al Khaimah, Al Nuaimi served two terms in the council and played a vital role as the chairman of the Finance, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee. His funeral prayers are scheduled to be held this Thursday at 8 a.m. at the Mohammed bin Zayed Mosque in Al Hayl.
Beyond his legislative duties, Al Nuaimi was a well-educated professional who held a bachelorâs degree in Media and English Language from UAE University, complemented by a masterâs in Media. Throughout his career, he was a staunch advocate for economic reform, focusing his efforts on trade, investment, consumer protection, and pension policy. He was also a familiar face on the international stage, having represented the UAE in numerous parliamentary forums across regions ranging from Latin America to Serbia, most recently speaking at the Marrakesh Parliamentary Economic Forum earlier this summer.
