The United Arab Emirates has officially pushed back against claims linking it to the ongoing civil war in Sudan, following the release of a report by a UN-mandated International Fact-Finding Mission. In a formal statement issued this Thursday, the UAE mission to the UN categorically denied any role in the hostilities, emphasizing that it has cooperated with the investigative body in a transparent manner. While the UN report included these allegations, the UAE stressed that any accusations should be handled with rigorous, evidence-based methodology rather than speculation.

Beyond defending its position, the UAE reiterated its commitment to international law and UN sanctions, including the strict enforcement of the existing arms embargo on Sudan. Highlighting its proactive approach to regional security, the nation pointed to its recent judicial crackdown on an illicit arms smuggling network, which resulted in charges against 13 individuals and six local companies. As the country continues to advocate for an immediate ceasefire and a civilian-led political transition, it remains firm in its stance that all external military support to the warring parties must come to an end to allow for a sustainable resolution to the crisis.
