In a significant move to support the welfare of his citizens, Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, has officially approved a new monthly "dignified living allowance" of Dh20,000. Starting this September, this initiative represents an annual investment of over Dh1.187 billion, aimed at easing the cost of living for thousands of Emirati families. The program is broad in scope, benefiting approximately 17,776 current government employees, alongside thousands of retirees and families receiving social assistance. This decision follows extensive research into the consumption needs of local households, ensuring that the financial support aligns with the realities of daily life in the emirate.

This announcement builds upon the Ruler’s consistent track record of prioritizing the socioeconomic stability of Sharjah’s residents through various employment and educational programs. Over the past year, the leadership has ramped up efforts to integrate Emiratis into the workforce, launched specialized training programs for job seekers, and established a comprehensive salary structure to promote career growth. Beyond the workforce, the Ruler continues to invest heavily in the future generation by providing thousands of scholarships for higher education and offering financial relief to vulnerable communities, such as covering the school fees for students at the Sudan Private School. These combined efforts reflect a holistic commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all segments of Sharjah's society.
