UAE Deploys Specialized Rescue Team and Aid to Flood-Hit Nepal

Sat, Sep 5, 2026(2h ago)UAE

The United Arab Emirates has stepped up its humanitarian mission in Nepal, dispatching a third relief flight to support those devastated by the recent floods and landslides. This latest mission includes a specialized search and rescue unit from the Dubai Police, equipped with state-of-the-art technology to bolster recovery efforts. Upon its arrival, the shipment—comprising 20 tonnes of essential supplies—was welcomed by a delegation of high-ranking Nepalese officials and UAE representatives, signaling the strong cooperation between the two nations during this crisis.

This deployment is part of a larger $10 million relief initiative ordered by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, bringing the total aid delivered to Nepal to an impressive 148 tonnes. Beyond the technical search capabilities, the relief operation is actively distributing food, medicine, and emergency supplies to vulnerable populations. By coordinating directly with local authorities and sourcing additional resources from nearby markets, the UAE aims to provide a rapid and effective response that addresses the immediate suffering of those displaced or injured by the natural disaster.
