UAE Search and Rescue Team Launches Critical Operations in Nepal

Sun, Sep 6, 2026(2h ago)UAE

The UAE Search and Rescue team has officially launched field operations in Nepal’s Rasuwa district, stepping up to assist with recovery efforts following the country’s recent catastrophic floods. By working closely with local Nepalese authorities, the team is deploying specialized resources and personnel to the most impacted areas. Their primary objective is to streamline rescue efforts and provide essential support to regions where infrastructure has been compromised by the severe landslides and flooding.

To enhance their search efficiency, the team is utilizing cutting-edge technology, including advanced drones capable of aerial surveillance and creating detailed 3D maps. According to Hamoud Al Afari, Director of UAE Relief Operations, these technical tools are vital for locating missing individuals and navigating difficult terrain. This deployment underscores the UAE's ongoing commitment to international humanitarian aid, ensuring that expertise and resources reach those in urgent need despite the difficult and challenging conditions on the ground.
