Dubai Airport Introduces 'Click and Travel' for Seamless Immigration
Dubai International Airport has officially rolled out a groundbreaking service called 'Click and Travel,' designed to transform how passengers move through passport control. Instead of being tethered to traditional fixed counters, immigration officers are now equipped with handheld devices that allow them to process arrivals and departures directly on the move. By utilizing advanced biometric verification, facial recognition, and electronic passport scanning, the system can complete a standard immigration check in just 12 to 15 seconds. This initiative, launched by the GDRFA Dubai on September 7, is intended to provide airport staff with greater flexibility to manage passenger traffic efficiently during peak travel times.
This mobile-first approach is available to all travelers, including UAE nationals, residents, GCC citizens, and international visitors. Importantly, the service does not replace the existing smart gates; rather, it acts as a supplementary tool to streamline the passenger experience. One of the most significant benefits is the added accessibility it provides for children and People of Determination, as officers can now bring the technology directly to them, eliminating the need to navigate crowded queues at standard desks. By integrating this secure, tech-driven solution, Dubai aims to create a more fluid, stress-free environment for everyone passing through its terminals.
