Dubai Metro Station Name Changes: A Complete Guide to Updated Branding

Tue, Sep 8, 2026(46m ago)UAE

For daily commuters and tourists alike, keeping up with the Dubai Metro’s shifting station names has become a necessity. These rebrandings are part of a long-standing initiative by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) that began in 2008, allowing private companies to secure naming rights for various stops across the network. Because these titles change periodically due to commercial partnerships, failing to stay informed can lead to confusion, missed stops, or unnecessary travel delays.

The network is currently undergoing several high-profile changes. Notable updates on the Red Line include Life Pharmacy (formerly UAE Exchange), National Paints (previously Jebel Ali, Nakheel Harbour, and Tower), and Al Fardan Exchange (formerly Al Khail and Nakheel). Other key stations like Insurance Market, Equiti, and Garmin have also seen recent rebranding, often moving through multiple names over the last few years. Meanwhile, the network is set to expand significantly with the introduction of the Blue Line in 2029, which will add 14 new stations—the first of which has already been branded as Emaar Properties—bringing the total metro capacity to 67 stations.
