Talabat Launches Robot Delivery Trial for Dubai Skyscrapers
Talabat has launched a pilot program at Dubai Digital Park’s A6 building to streamline deliveries in high-rise structures using autonomous QuikBot robots. The process begins with delivery riders dropping off packages at a specialized station within the building. From there, the robot takes over, navigating the elevators independently to reach the customer's specific floor. To retrieve their order, customers simply input a one-time password (OTP) provided to them, ensuring a secure and seamless drop-off.
This initiative is aimed at tackling the most time-consuming aspects of urban delivery, such as navigating complex building layouts and waiting for slow elevators. By offloading these final-mile tasks to robots, Talabat hopes to significantly increase the efficiency of its riders, allowing them to focus on new orders while the technology manages building access. Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, both companies are using this trial to evaluate the real-world performance of the QuikSync platform, with an eye toward potentially rolling out the technology across a wider range of locations in the future.
