UAE Addresses Claims Regarding Pre-October 7 Warnings

Wed, Sep 9, 2026(55m ago)UAE

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement clarifying that it does not comment on media speculation or reports concerning private communications between government leaders. This response follows allegations published by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, which claimed that UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about a looming Hamas operation shortly before the October 7 attacks. While the report suggested a calm exchange between the two leaders, the Prime Minister’s office has categorically denied receiving any such warning from the UAE.

Since establishing diplomatic relations over five years ago, the UAE and Israel have maintained consistent and open channels of communication, primarily focused on regional stability, de-escalation, and the exchange of critical intelligence. The UAE maintains that its diplomatic efforts remain steadfast in preventing further violence and promoting peace across the region. Amidst the ongoing fallout from the October 7 incident, which triggered a devastating conflict and a significant humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the claims have sparked intense political debate within Israel, with opposition figures questioning the Prime Minister’s handling of security intelligence.
