Sharjah Waives Toll Fees for Cargo Trucks Entering from Oman
Authorities in Sharjah have officially removed toll gate fees for cargo vehicles traveling from Oman that operate within designated logistics corridors. This initiative is specifically tailored for trucks entering the emirate via the Khatmat Malaha and Al Madam border crossings. To qualify for the exemption, logistics companies must ensure their shipments are registered under the approved routes, a move designed to streamline cross-border trade and reduce operational expenses for transport operators.
The two specified border points play a strategic role in regional connectivity. The Khatmat Malaha crossing is vital due to its proximity to Oman’s Port of Sohar, which allows for significantly faster transit times. Similarly, the Al Madam crossing serves as a key logistical hub, connecting directly to the Wilayat of Mahdha and supporting the growing trade activity linked to the Al Rawdah Economic Zone. By eliminating extra transfer stages and offering fast-track lanes for customs clearance, Sharjah is effectively creating a more efficient, cost-effective supply chain route that strengthens economic ties between the UAE and Oman.
