Dubai Gold Prices Slip Amid Inflation Worries and Market Uncertainty
Gold prices in Dubai experienced a slight dip on Wednesday, continuing a downward trend that began earlier this week. The 24K variant opened at Dh523.50 per gram, a notable drop from Tuesday’s closing price of Dh526. Other gold variants followed suit, with 22K, 21K, 18K, and 14K gold trading lower at Dh484.75, Dh464.75, Dh398.50, and Dh310.75 per gram, respectively. This decline comes as global market sentiment remains shaky, influenced by rising inflation fears and increased interest in oil.
Market analysts, including Vijay Valecha of Century Financial, attribute this pressure on precious metals to a combination of geopolitical tensions and the anticipation of a hawkish Federal Reserve. While regional conflicts continue to spark anxiety, investors are remaining cautious, particularly ahead of key diplomatic meetings and global policy updates. Technical indicators suggest that gold is currently struggling for momentum, remaining largely range-bound for the month. Unless a significant escalation in Middle Eastern tensions drives oil prices higher, gold is expected to maintain its current trading range for the near term.
