The UAE Ministry of Interior has officially confirmed the continuation of "Operation Confrontation Ghost," a massive multinational initiative aimed at dismantling sophisticated fraud networks. Currently involving 30 nations, two international bodies, and several key private-sector technology partners, the operation is specifically designed to tackle modern threats such as AI-driven scams, digital financial fraud, and online sextortion. By facilitating real-time intelligence sharing and leveraging specialized technical expertise, the coalition seeks to stay ahead of evolving criminal tactics while strictly adhering to international data protection standards.

During the UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Abu Dhabi, UAE officials highlighted that the borderless nature of these crimes necessitates a unified, rapid response. To bolster these efforts, the UAE has proposed a new regional initiative focused on closing legislative gaps and curbing money laundering linked to fraud. Hamid Saif Al Zaabi, a senior official, emphasized that fraud has evolved into a pervasive global threat affecting all demographics, fueled by regional instability. Through collaborations like the Global Anti-Scam Alliance, the UAE aims to create a stronger, more resilient defense framework to protect financial systems from increasingly complex cross-border criminal schemes.
