UAE Economy Poised for Strong Rebound by 2027
UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri has characterized the upcoming period as a "counter-attack year," signaling a robust economic resurgence despite current headwinds caused by regional geopolitical tensions. Speaking at the Future Hospitality Summit World, Al Marri emphasized that the nation is not merely focusing on recovery, but is strategically positioning itself for a peaceful yet powerful comeback. While the International Monetary Fund projects a 3.1 percent GDP growth for the UAE, the Minister remains optimistic that 2027 will mark a pivotal shift toward accelerated expansion across key sectors like trade, transport, and real estate.
A cornerstone of this future growth is the nation's ambitious tourism strategy, which aims to attract 40 million hotel guests by 2031. To meet this demand, officials are addressing the current need for increased hotel capacity, with plans to bring thousands of rooms back into operation following refurbishments. Furthermore, the government has introduced the "UAE Grand Tour," a nationwide initiative designed to encourage travelers to explore beyond the major hubs and experience the unique offerings of all seven emirates. By streamlining booking processes and inviting industry partners to collaborate, the UAE aims to significantly increase the length of visitor stays and solidify its position as a global tourism leader.
