UAE Fuel Prices See Significant Hike for October 2026
The UAE fuel committee has officially announced the price adjustments for October 2026, marking a notable increase across all categories compared to September. Motorists will see Super 98 petrol rise to Dh4.40 per litre, while Special 95 and E-Plus 91 are set at Dh4.28 and Dh4.21 respectively. Diesel has also seen a jump, reaching Dh4.80 per litre. These new rates, which come into effect on October 1, follow a volatile period for fuel costs that have been heavily influenced by shifting regional geopolitical tensions and global oil market fluctuations.
This latest upward trend follows a brief period of relief in July, breaking a pattern of fluctuating costs that has persisted since the onset of conflict in the Middle East in early 2026. The recent decision by the US to allow the ceasefire with Iran to expire, coupled with heightened Houthi activities impacting Red Sea oil infrastructure, has contributed to this renewed instability. For UAE residents, these consistent price shifts represent a significant concern, as rising fuel expenses directly strain household budgets and necessitate tighter financial planning for families reliant on daily vehicle travel.
