Major Drug Seizure in Dubai: Authorities Arrest 14 and Seize Dh115 Million in Narcotics

Fri, Oct 2, 2026(2h ago)UAE

In a significant blow to organized crime, Dubai Police successfully dismantled a smuggling operation aimed at flooding the UAE with over 2.3 tonnes of illicit substances. The operation resulted in the arrest of 14 individuals who were allegedly acting on behalf of an international criminal network. Authorities acted swiftly to intercept the massive shipment, which carried an estimated street value of Dh115.2 million, preventing these dangerous drugs from reaching the streets.

The haul, which was discovered packed neatly into 113 individual cartons, contained a disturbing variety of illegal items. Law enforcement officials recovered a broad spectrum of controlled substances, including Xanax, Tramadol, and Lyrica, alongside high-risk narcotics like crystal meth and marijuana. Additionally, the shipment included Mydriacyl eye drops and various papers infused with narcotic chemicals, underscoring the sophisticated and diverse nature of the illicit inventory handled by the syndicate.
