Man Facing Deportation After Tampering with Murder Investigation Scene
The UAE’s Federal Supreme Court has finalized a deportation order for a man who deliberately compromised a crime scene related to a murder investigation. The individual had broken into an apartment that was under judicial seal, removing furniture and personal belongings while the property was meant to be preserved for evidence. Despite his claims that he was simply retrieving his own property under a valid tenancy agreement, the court found clear evidence that he was fully aware of the police restrictions on the premises.
The court rejected the defendant’s arguments, noting that surveillance footage and his own prior inquiries to prosecutors proved he knew the apartment was part of an ongoing homicide probe. By forcing entry and removing items, he effectively obstructed the judicial process. Consequently, the Supreme Court upheld the lower court's original ruling, confirming that his actions demonstrated criminal intent. With this final appeal denied, the defendant now faces mandatory deportation from the country.
