Etihad Rail Boosts Abu Dhabi-Dubai Weekend Capacity Following Sell-Out Success
In a move to keep up with the overwhelming interest in its newly launched passenger service, Etihad Rail has added six extra train trips between Abu Dhabi and Dubai for the upcoming weekend. This expansion includes three additional services each on Saturday and Sunday, providing over 2,000 extra seats for commuters. The decision follows a swift surge in bookings, with premium class tickets for Saturday’s routes selling out just two hours after they were made available on Friday.
The new schedule includes departures at 12:14, 13:43, and 16:43, catering to the high volume of travelers eager to experience the one-hour-and-four-minute journey between the two emirates. With the recent opening of Al Yalayis station, demand has remained consistently high, prompting officials to encourage passengers to book their tickets at least 10 days in advance via the official app, website, or at station counters. Travelers can choose between Saver, Value, and Flex ticket tiers, with discounted fares available for children and senior citizens.
