The family of Captain Smit Machchhar, the Flydubai pilot who courageously prevented a mid-air attack during a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, has shared their immense pride and relief following the incident. Machchhar’s father-in-law, Jaysukh Jogi, expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from both national and international leaders, noting that the recognition of the captain's bravery has provided great comfort to their family. While Machchhar sustained significant head and hand injuries during the struggle to secure the cockpit, his relatives confirmed that he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to recover in time.

The pilot’s family admitted that the days following the incident were filled with profound stress, which only began to subside after they saw him speaking with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on television. His uncle, Kishore Machchhar, described the captain as a hardworking and deeply religious individual, while his aunt, Sonal, fondly recalled his calm nature since childhood. As the family awaits his return home, the pilot continues to receive widespread acclaim, including the 'Visisht Gujarat Garima Award' from the Chief Minister of Gujarat, honoring the remarkable composure and courage he displayed during the life-threatening emergency.
