Dubai RTA issues traffic warning for 'Proud of UAE' cycling race

Sun, Oct 4, 2026(3h ago)UAE

If you are planning to drive in Dubai this Sunday, October 4, you should prepare for potential delays. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has alerted motorists that traffic may be impacted between 6:00 am and 8:30 am due to the 'Proud of UAE' cycling race. Officials are strongly encouraging drivers to plan their routes ahead of time, leave a bit earlier than usual, and remain attentive to all posted traffic signs and official instructions to help keep the roads moving smoothly.

Organized by the Dubai Police General Command in partnership with the UAE Cycling Federation and the Dubai Sports Council, this second edition of the race spans 80 kilometers, starting at the Nad Al Sheba Centre. Beyond the competitive aspect, which features a prize pool of Dh140,000, the event is designed to celebrate national pride and promote a healthier, more active lifestyle for the community. By hosting these sporting initiatives, organizers hope to inspire residents to incorporate exercise into their daily routines while honoring the nation’s achievements.
