How Dubai Police are Shaping the Future of Global Policing Through Innovation
Two officers from the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq recently completed the third edition of the Policing Innovation and Leadership (PIL) Diploma, a program hosted by the Dubai Police in partnership with the Rabdan Academy. Both Captain Mohammad Hayder Mohammad Bndyan and First Lieutenant Mansur Mudhafar Swara expressed admiration for the UAEâs strategic focus on modern policing. Beyond merely utilizing advanced tech, the officers noted that a core takeaway from the training was the mindset of innovationâlearning how to maximize existing resources effectively rather than solely relying on high-cost technology.
The program offered a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on field experience, ranging from specialized SWAT tactics for building clearance to scientific forensic evidence techniques. By engaging with professionals from over 60 countries, the participants emphasized that international cooperation is vital in an era where criminal threats like cyber extortion and human trafficking increasingly transcend borders. Ultimately, the officers returned home not just with new technical skills, but with a renewed commitment to community-based policing and the collaborative strategies necessary to maintain public safety in an evolving global landscape.
