Enhanced Taxi Fleet at Zayed International Airport to Boost Passenger Convenience

Wed, Oct 7, 2026(1h ago)UAE

Traveling through Abu Dhabi just became significantly more convenient thanks to a major expansion by the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) and Abu Dhabi Airports. To better manage the rising number of travelers, a total of 800 new taxis have been introduced to the city’s transportation network. This strategic move is designed to ensure that passengers arriving at Zayed International Airport enjoy a more seamless transition to their final destinations, effectively reducing wait times even during the busiest hours of the year.

The fleet upgrade is split between specialized service and general city capacity, featuring 500 premium vehicles dedicated exclusively to airport passengers. An additional 300 taxis have been integrated into the broader Abu Dhabi network, which will serve to bolster availability for those commuting to and from the airport. By significantly increasing the number of vehicles on the road, authorities are ensuring that both residents and visitors have reliable, accessible, and comfortable transport options when navigating the capital.
