Dubai Launches New Advisory Councils to Shape Future of Education
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has taken a significant step toward a more collaborative education system by forming its first-ever Parents Council and Educators Council, alongside the second cohort of the Dubai Students Council for the 2026-27 academic year. These three groups, consisting of 15 parents, 15 education professionals, and 16 students from Grades 9 to 12, were selected from hundreds of applicants through a rigorous process designed to ensure diversity and fair representation. This initiative is a core component of the "Dubai Education 33" (E33) strategy, reflecting the city's commitment to building an inclusive, learner-centered environment where the community directly influences policy.
By providing these stakeholders with a formal, direct line of communication to the regulator, Dubai aims to foster meaningful dialogue that goes beyond individual school feedback. The councils act as strategic partners, with students offering insights into the modern classroom experience, parents focusing on family-school partnerships, and educators providing evidence-based input on academic programs and teacher wellbeing. These voluntary, year-long appointments represent a shared responsibility in governance, ensuring that the emirateâs private education sector remains responsive to the evolving needs and aspirations of its residents.
