UAE Weather Update: Fog Alerts Issued as Temperatures Climb to 43°C
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted fair to partly cloudy conditions for the UAE this Thursday, October 8, with some cloud development expected over eastern regions by the afternoon. As the day transitions into the night and early Friday morning, residents should prepare for increased humidity across coastal and internal areas, which may lead to patches of fog or mist. Light to moderate winds will prevail, blowing from the southeast to the northeast at speeds ranging from 10 to 20 km/hr, occasionally gusting up to 30 km/hr.
Authorities have issued red and yellow fog alerts, warning residents of significantly reduced horizontal visibility that may fluctuate throughout the affected regions. Meanwhile, temperatures remain high, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi hitting peaks of 43°C, while Sharjah is expected to reach 41°C. Evening lows will hover between 28°C and 30°C in the major cities, though those in mountainous areas can expect a much cooler minimum of 21°C. Sea conditions throughout the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are currently expected to remain slight.
