UAE Weather Update: Fog Alerts Issued as Temperatures Reach 39ºC

Fri, Oct 9, 2026(2h ago)UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted fair to partly cloudy skies across the UAE for Friday, October 9, with a slight increase in cloud cover expected over eastern regions by the afternoon. As the day progresses, coastal and internal areas should prepare for rising humidity levels by night and into Saturday morning, which may lead to the formation of mist or patches of fog. Winds will remain light to moderate, shifting from southeasterly to northwesterly at speeds between 10 and 30 km/hr, while sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to remain slight.

Authorities have issued red and yellow fog alerts across specific parts of the country, warning motorists of significantly reduced horizontal visibility. These alerts are currently in effect until 9 am, and residents are advised to exercise caution on the roads. Meanwhile, thermometers in major urban hubs like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah are expected to peak at 39ºC during the day, before dropping to a low of 30ºC as night falls.
