UAE Weather Update: Heavy Fog Prompts Red and Yellow Alerts

Sat, Oct 10, 2026(1h ago)UAE

Residents across the UAE are waking up to significantly reduced visibility today, October 10, as the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has activated red and yellow weather alerts. While the day is expected to stay fair to partly cloudy, meteorologists anticipate some cloud cover developing over eastern and southern regions as the afternoon progresses. Authorities are also warning that humidity levels will climb significantly tonight and into Sunday morning, creating a strong possibility of mist or fog returning to coastal and inland areas.

Despite the hazy start, the country remains in the grips of warm conditions. Temperatures are set to peak at 41°C in Abu Dhabi, 40°C in Dubai, and 39°C in Sharjah, with overnight lows dipping to between 26°C and 29°C across these major cities. Winds will remain relatively calm, blowing at speeds between 10 and 20 km/hr, with occasional gusts reaching up to 30 km/hr. Meanwhile, maritime conditions are expected to stay settled, with light to moderate seas forecasted for both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
