In a strategic move to cement Dubai’s status as a global hub for the arts, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has enacted Law No. (20) of 2026, officially establishing the Dubai Orchestra Foundation. This new entity is designed to cultivate the local orchestral scene while simultaneously preserving Emirati musical heritage. By fostering a supportive environment for both emerging artists and People of Determination, the Foundation aims to create a robust platform that highlights local talent on the world stage and attracts significant international investment into the emirate’s performing arts sector.

Beyond talent development, the Foundation is tasked with curating a dynamic annual calendar of musical events and hosting prestigious international orchestras to enrich Dubai’s cultural fabric. Its operational framework includes the creation of a resident orchestra that will perform both locally and abroad, alongside initiatives focused on music education and global institutional partnerships. Governed by a Board of Trustees and managed by an expert executive team, the Foundation is set to receive full support from government entities, ensuring it has the resources necessary to harmonize Dubai’s artistic vision with the international music community.
