Fujairah Adjusts Speed Limits on Khorfakkan Road to Boost Safety

Mon, Oct 12, 2026(2h ago)UAE

Starting Tuesday, October 13, 2026, motorists traveling on the Fujairah–Khorfakkan Road will need to adjust their driving habits as authorities implement a new speed limit. In a joint effort between Fujairah Police and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the maximum speed allowed on this stretch will be lowered from 120km/h to 100km/h. This change is being introduced as a proactive measure to enhance overall road safety and ensure that all drivers remain mindful of traffic regulations.

This update follows a broader trend across the UAE, where similar safety initiatives are being rolled out to reduce traffic accidents. Just last month, Abu Dhabi Mobility implemented a comparable reduction on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Street (E311), also bringing the limit down to 100km/h in critical areas. By standardizing these speed requirements, officials hope to create a more controlled driving environment and encourage better compliance from road users across the region.
