UAE Residents Brace for Unsettled Weather, Dust, and Potential Rain This Week

Tue, Oct 13, 2026(1h ago)UAE

The UAE is set to experience a shift in weather this week as rain-bearing clouds drift inland from the eastern and northern regions, potentially impacting cities including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain. Meteorologists from the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) have warned that these convective clouds may bring light to moderate rainfall, with the possibility of occasional heavy downpours accompanied by thunder. Residents should also be prepared for gusty winds and downdrafts, which are likely to stir up dust and sand, leading to reduced visibility in open spaces and along major routes.

These volatile conditions are a hallmark of the autumn transition, a period when the UAE often sees rapid fluctuations between stable and unstable weather. While rain is expected to persist through the end of the week, temperatures are likely to remain relatively steady for now, continuing the gradual cooling trend typical of the season. As the NCM monitors the situation closely, officials are urging the public to exercise caution, particularly when driving near mountainous terrain or through areas where visibility may be compromised by the shifting weather.
