Heavy Rains and Hail Bring Welcome Relief to Al Ain

Tue, Oct 13, 2026(1h ago)UAE

Parts of the UAE, particularly Al Ain, experienced a dramatic shift in weather this Monday as intense thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy rain swept across the region. This sudden downpour provided a much-needed break from the lingering summer heat, offering residents a refreshing taste of autumn. However, the weather brought challenging conditions along with the relief, as strong winds and significant hail reduced visibility on major routes like Hatta Road, forcing motorists to exercise extra caution while navigating the slick streets.

The National Centre of Meteorology had anticipated this shift, having previously alerted the public to the likelihood of rainfall in areas including Dubai, Sharjah, and Al Ain. Authorities also issued a flash flood warning for mountainous regions, advising residents to steer clear of valleys and low-lying areas prone to sudden water accumulation. As the storm moved through, including heavy showers recorded in Shawkah, Ras Al Khaimah, officials continued to emphasize the importance of staying updated on safety advisories while the country transitions into cooler seasonal weather.
