Indians in the UAE Warned Against Fraudulent Overseas Job Scams

Tue, Oct 13, 2026(1h ago)UAE

The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai have issued a stern advisory urging citizens to be wary of unscrupulous visa and migration agencies. Authorities have received numerous reports of firms operating both within and outside the UAE that lure applicants with promises of overseas employment or residency, only to vanish after collecting hefty fees. These entities often leverage social media advertisements to reach potential victims, leaving many individuals without the promised services or any path to a refund.

To avoid falling victim to these schemes, officials are advising Indian nationals to stop relying on third-party agencies found on social media and instead verify information through official government channels. It is crucial to remember that no private agency has the authority to guarantee visa approval, as that decision rests exclusively with the destination country's government. Before sharing personal information or transferring funds, applicants should conduct thorough due diligence and consult the official websites of the relevant embassies to ensure they are dealing with authorized procedures rather than fraudulent intermediaries.
