UAE Recalls Batch of Face Masks Over Contamination Concerns

Tue, Oct 13, 2026(1h ago)UAE

The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) has issued an urgent recall for Batch No. 20251015 of the Nin 160 FMB-NML blue three-ply face masks due to serious quality concerns. Investigations revealed that this specific batch contains foreign material, prompting immediate regulatory intervention. Following the directive, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has instructed all private healthcare facilities to halt the sale, distribution, and use of these masks immediately. Distributors are now required to quarantine existing stock and provide a detailed account of all items previously sent to market.

The public is also being urged to check their supplies and stop using any masks from the affected batch, returning them to their point of purchase instead. This proactive measure reflects the UAE's ongoing commitment to consumer safety, following a series of recent recalls involving various products—ranging from insecticides to infant formula—that failed to meet safety or regulatory standards. By enforcing these strict protocols, the EDE aims to prevent potential health risks and ensure that all medical and consumer goods circulating in the country remain safe for public use.
